Several years ago, my Father sent me a copy of this short story by an unknown author. I printed it out, though later misplaced the copy. Now found, here it is…
Just up the road from my house is a field with two horses in it. From a distance each looks like every other horse. But if you stop your car, or are walking by, you will notice something quite amazing. Looking into the eyes of one horse will disclose that he is blind. His owner has chosen not to have him put down, but has made a good home for him. This alone is amazing.
If nearby and listening, you will hear the sound of a bell. Looking around for the source of the sound, you will see that it comes from the smaller horse in the field. Attached to her halter is a small bell. It lets her blind friend know where she is, so he can follow her.
As you stand and watch these two friends, you’ll see how she is always checking on him, and that he will listen for her bell then slowly walk to where she is, trusting that she will not lead him astray. When she returns to the shelter of the barn each evening, she stops occasionally and looks back, making sure that her friend isn’t too far behind to hear the bell.
Like the owners of these two horses, God does not throw us away just because we are not perfect or because we have problems or challenges. He watches over us and even brings others into our lives to help us when we are in need. Sometimes, we are the blind horse being guided by the little ringing bell of those who God places in our lives. Other times we are the guide horse, helping others see.
Good friends are like this…you don’t always see them, but you know they are always there.
Please listen for my bell and I’ll listen for yours.
Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
WordPress recently announced that premium themes are available for premium plan members, for free! So, as of now, I’m using a theme called Designer, a responsive theme with a minimal style and portfolio template.
I voted for Donald Trump and Mike Pence.
Check out this fun program on the internet which can be used to create free text designs, called Retro Wave. Simply add 3 lines of text, select your background and text style. Then, click GO. It doesn’t get much easier than that! One caveat: the text fields are limited. Enjoy!
Today, I was pleased to learn that my The Son of God design has been featured in the Mustard Seeds gallery – thanks to Matty B. Duran (group host)!
Today, I was pleased to discover that my Christian Cross On Mountain artwork has been featured in the Catholic Art Gallery group at Pixels – thanks to Frank J. Casella, group host – much appreciated!
Pursuant to the recent murders by “radical Islamic terrorists” of staff at Charlie Hebro a satirical weekly newspaper in France, many people and organizations alike have sought false security beneath the blanket of political correctness, cowering in fear at any such utterance used to define the ideology undergirding these acts of atrocity. Choosing instead to use such terminology as “violent extremists”, the contagion of cowardice has spread beyond notable public figures such as President Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder, to more common entities – now, including Zazzle.
These individual designs were available in the marketplace through Zazzle as print on demand merchandise. Following the terrorist attacks in Paris, each has since been removed…
Having recently discovered one of my designs (Ted Cruz 2016) being used on a Facebook site without permission, I contacted the user by email, and then again later through Twitter requesting that the unauthorized use of my design be discontinued. With no reply after a week, I contacted Facebook directly and filed an intellectual property right violation report. After providing the appropriate information as evidence of ownership, Facebook responded swiftly by removing the aforementioned design within the hour – thanks Facebook!
Yesterday afternoon, I responded to an #instapoll question posted on Twitter by Jeanine Pirro (@JudgeJeanine) of theJustice With Judge Jeanine television show on Fox.
Though I’d hoped that she would both select and display my response alongside of my Twitter username (@mi_conservative – now, @twenty48dotnet) on her June 21, 2014 show, I was nevertheless very much pleased to hear her make reference to my answer, citing:
‘…Phil said that Lois Lerner used the hard drive as a booster seat to plead the 5th.’
Such fun ~ thanks Jeanine Pirro!!!
I wrote this political satire in 2007…
It appears as if Hugo Chavez, socialist (and communist want-to-be) President of Venezuela, is up to his dirty old tricks, again…
In a scenario so bizarre as to have editors at the National Enquirer scratching their collective-heads in disbelief, Hugo Chavez has been apprehended and detained by customs officials for attempting to enter the United States of America disguised as a Texas Longhorn bull.
