Under lenient leftist policies, insurrectionists around the country continue to pillage America’s communities. It’s past time we cracked down on their destructive actions. My legislation will incapacitate these rioters to prevent further destruction and increase penalties against them, making the punishment fit their crimes.
Cotton’s legislation is designed to make it more difficult for rioters to get bailed out of jail upon arrest, create avenues for rioting victims to sue rioters, and to cut rioters off from federal unemployment benefits.
The co-founder of the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement, Patrisse Cullors, was the protégé of a communist-supporting domestic terrorist for over a decade, spending years training in political organizing and absorbing the radical Marxist-Leninist ideology which shaped her worldview.
Anarchist organizations such as ANTIFA & Black Lives Matter are not concerned with promoting the advancement of African-Americans, nor the recent murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Instead, they’re violent anti-American radical Marxists hellbent on the destruction of our society, and must be eradicated.
For 130 years, Aunt Jemima, a popular breakfast foods brand, has been featured on Quaker’s pancake mix and syrup, etc..
In light of elevated racial tensions stoked by radical marxist organizations, such as ANTIFA & Black Lives Matter, a spokesperson from Quaker Foods North America stated their reason to discontinue the brand –
This statement followed a recent TV appearance on NBC’s Today Show by an associate professor from Cornell’s Africana Studies and Research Center, who exclaimed –
Aunt Jemima is that kind of stereotype that is premised on this idea of Black inferiority and otherness. It is urgent to expunge our public spaces of a lot of these symbols that for some people are triggering and represent terror and abuse.
As the left continues a campaign of social pressure to erase history, to cancel culture, to remove monuments and blur reality, they once again diminish the contributions of individual role models – in this case, Nancy Green.
Aunt Jemima was a real person named Nancy Green, a former slave. She was the first of several African-American models hired to promote a corporate trademark, and was offered a lifetime contract by Quaker Oats to promote the pancake mix. This marked the beginning of a major promotional push by the company that included thousands of personal appearances and merchandising; hence, she had a prominent role in the establishment of a brand that became leading in its category. She subsequently used her stature as a spokesperson to become a leading advocate against poverty and in favor of equal rights. And, as one of the first African-American missionary workers, she helped organize the Olivet Baptist Church.
